Point Evidence Elaboration
Point of View : The speaker is the poet himself. He is speaking from a soldier point of view, as he was one of the many affected soldiers. In the poem the author is showing his hate for what the Americans had used to win the war, and in the long run which would affect more than just their enemys, but also affect the innocent people of Vietnam and even many of the unborn generations of Vietnam.

Situation and Setting :Imagery
Evidence: “Green, pink, purple and other colors death potpourri!”
The author uses imagery to give a sense of what he saw during the Vietnam war. The colours “Green, pink, purple and other colors death potpourri” are used to describe what he saw. Green would have been used to describe the trees he saw while moving in the jungle or the camouflage used by the soldiers. Pink and purple are also used to show the wounds of the injured soldiers. The death potpourri is used to show that all these colours are used as they can be clearly seen in the war, showing that it has a colourful, but gruesome side.

3 Language/ Diction “Toll on the innocent and unborn…. Omnipotent and disregarding who will mourn”
“Reflective about all the illness, birth defects and prematurely dead.
All the deceit continues to spread.”

The poet uses a lot emphasis on some words by putting it in capital and uses rhyme to show the connection between two things. The evidence “innocent and unborn” and “who will mourn” which rhyme,. This show their connection that many people are mourning for the loss an innocent child, and that the government of the winning country do not really care about the loss of lives just to win the war. The poet also uses “prematurely dead” and “deceit continues to spread”. These two phrase also rhyme, showing that they are connected as they, both show that the more the illnesses spread, the more the death spread, the more hated which will be built to affect more people.

4 Personal Response
Personally I feel that the poem show the true side of the war at hand. Although in every war it show that everyone who died is brave, the poem show that in war it isn’t just about the soilder, but it also show the horrors the people will face and the selfishness of the government, as to win the war, they are willing to put many people at risk of dying., just to win the war. It alos shows that the government is also willing to uses any mean nessaary to win the war.

This small poem speaks of a modern day ingredient of warfare that has caused appalling death and suffering – not only to its intended victims, the Vietnamese people, but also the service personnel that used or even just came into contact with “Agent Orange”.
The poem show that the poet does not like and feel a deep distaste for how the chemicals were used in the war, which cause the death and damage to the innocents of Vietnam. In the poem, the chemical called Agent Orange is mentioned. This is the same chemical which has caused the poet many health problems. The poet now has health problems which started approximately 15 years ago with unexplained headaches and limb pains. Afew years later, years ago his central nervous system radically deteriorated with Parkinsonian type tremors, severe headaches, progressive limb pains. The auothor’s guess is the heavily contaminated drinking water at Shemya during my year there as an intelligence analyst. Organo-phosphate toxins may not run their toxic course until 20 to 30 years after initial exposure.

Interpersonal
My friend felt that if some was to discriminate against other people, that person should be punished as everyone on this earth has the right to live and should be treated fairly no matter how different that person is. Anyone how discriminates against others should be punished as he is about to cause chaos and thinks he is better than others, that person is wrong as only someone who things their bigger than others is actually beneath other people.

I feel that the Multiple Intelligence test is quite accurate . It poses questions which really describe a person by the whole and it will make it more accurate.I feel that I really am interpersonal as i can easily tell how people are reacting and can tell who to trust easily.I am also quite a kinaestheic person. I am a in volleyball and constantly wanting to get up and exercise and get outside and play.

“several insults of blotted pages” “Fuel” refers to the energy the teacher has left which is very little, which shows the persona is tired. “Hounds” suggest that the students are like dogs, who are very restless and unruly and do not pay attention to the persona. “Insults” suggest that the work of the students are so horrible and poorly done as well as poorly written that the persona feels that the students are insulting her intelligence.
Alliteration

tells us the that the student do not like to learn and even when the teacher tries o get them learning they continue not paying attention. “Of the books…of several insults…of slovenly work” shows that the student’s work is very sloppy and the persona feels that their work are insults towards her. “take the toll” tells us that the teacher has no choice but to mark the students work as she is their teacher and will need to take on this task.
The alliteration gives the emphasis on the teacher being forced to teach the students and also shows her anger towards the student’s attitude and work.
2)Anger “I am sick” The persona uses the word sick to show that she is tred of marking the students sloppy work and is also disgusted by her students work. This shows her anger as after ll the effort the teacher is putting in, this is the kind of work her students are giving her.
“I will not” The persona has no more will to mark anymore of her students work as it is not well done and she does not want to waste anymore of her energy and time on such work. She also has no more desire to mark any more work as she knows the work are all the same scrawls and thus she has no will to mark any more.

On august 9th , 2009, a lady was attacked by a bear which forced its way into a home in the Rocky Mountain ski resort town of Aspen and attacked the homeowner who suffered deep scratches to her back and chest when the bear struck at her. Her injuries were not severe and she did not have to be hospitalized.Aspen police and wildlife officers have been busy with bear calls all summer say that when they find the bear they will euthanise.Bears are normally tagged the first time they're caught getting in trash or being a nuisance in some other way. If they strike again, they're put down.

I feel that they should actually tranqulise the bear, then shift the bear to a more safer area where bears can safely live.It is of the nature of the bear that they attack people, but most of the time they will attack people when they are lost and afraid or when they are hungry.

I like to eat saucy food, food with alot of sauce. Thus the food i am talking today is lor mee (卤面).

This is a Chinese-inspired noodle dish served in a thick starchy gravy and thick flat yellow noodles.

The dish is eaten by the many people in Singapore and Malaysia . The sauce is made of corn starch spices and eggs and the ingredients are most of the time fish cakes, meats and meat dumplings and also half a boiled egg. Garlic and vinegar are also sometimes added to give the noodles more flavor.

The sauce is most of the time a dark brown color, severed with flat noodles. It has a herbal and also a strong taste. The sauce is extremeness sticky and acts like a soup except that it stays on the noodle giving its taste. To bring out the flavor i would put the vinegar as well as the garlic. When ever i am out side or in school, i would buy this dish most of the time be it dinner or lunch as i like its herbal taste and it also keeps the person bloated for most of the day, leaving you feeling full and satisfied.

like the silence of reading

NATURAL THERAPY
the great thing about the tall white daisy
is that it knows how to laugh at itself

some flowers for all their rich displays
won't preen themselves without a primness

in their sap - nor let their stalks abide
bending this way that way in the thick wind

the large daisy is happy to be slapdash
is not snooty about the company it keeps

it does have a flair for being noticed
it's the way it lets its petals out (ragged

and not wanting everyone the same)

advice to a young sylv-i-an dragon on going to school by Rg Gregory

when you step out of the wood and go first time to school
you have to be so specially careful if you're really a dragon
to put the most innocent expression on your face you can find
and not flip your flappers (unless the others don't mind)
you must be very strict with yourself - be sure not to act the fool
you'd be far happier i think to get your mother to tie a tag on

saying - this dragon is sweet no matter how fierce she seems
and letting everyone know you were born in a wood (well at least
a sylv-i-an creature) and not used to clatterings and bangings
that can set a dragon's scales on edge with their thwangings
schools never are you know the paradise of your dreams
they have a tendency in everyone to bring out the beast

or maybe when you get there you should do a dragon-dance
and get everyone hopping around the place breathing fire
or burn up a prince or two - to show how that game is played
taking their minds off the fact you have a back like a saw-blade
and a tail so fierce it would keep the bravest child at a distance
but whatever else you do dear dragon definitely do not perspire

a perspiring dragon will have the whole school holding its noses
dainty dragons do not sweat - the first lesson to be deeply learned

Dear students,
In the recent nationwide survey, it shows that many of you have a nonchalant attitude towards environmental issues. As the president of the Activists' Club in Singapore,I believe that it is everyone responsibility, whether if it is a student or an elderly person, to play their part in helping the environment. Many of you youngsters have been wasting paper and other reusable objects such as plastic bottles and and metal cans when you can recycle them. You will not only help the environment, but in the long run, you will be helping yourself and others. You should not litter when there is a rubbish bin around as when you litter, you are harming the environment. This is because most litter will attract ants and other pest which might cause diseases. if you do not throw away litter properly, it will not decompose faster and will decompose slower and when this happens toxic fumes will be given off and might harm the ozone layer and us. So do your part today and help the environment now.

Age and experience is important to the workforce in any country. The age of the worker can be younger and it is also better to have younger workers, although older workers have experience that younger workers don't, younger workers have more energy as well as more creativity than older workers. They are also faster learners that older people and can learn the ropes quickly. Younger workers are also more technology wise than most older workers and they can easily use modern technology easily like computers and fax machines than most older workers. Although younger workers are good in many ways, older workers with experience is sometimes more important. This is because they have been through different situations and know how and what to do if such situation strike the company. So the age of a good worker must be not too old or too young and must have some experience in the job.

Belive that companies should hire more older workers as some older workers have the experience in some jobs that younger workers dont have. Older workers are also more hard working and are also willing to learn. Though some have physical disabilities, as long as you are able to cater to or change the job to make it more age friendly, they will most likely workhard.
